All welcome to call. It is often a very busy workplace - with people calling in, with the phone going, with the photocopier busy churning out papers, with the computers busy with emails or writing letter and perhaps the internal phone from school ringing as well. With access to lots of information to help in the communication of the life of Werrington Parish Church there is a myriad of papers and magazines, reference books, and equipment...As long as you are prepared to stop and listen, not getting upset when it takes ages to do a simple job, purely because of all the 'interruptions' such as a phone call from someone in distress, then you will love it. It is so varied..can be very tiring and hours are long but pass quickly. As someone who has been working as Parish Administrator here for over 24 years full time and longer part time I can say I have never been bored. Calls come in for baptisms, weddings and funerals which then get directed to the appropriate staff or volunteer member.

I joined Val in the Parish Office in March 2007. No two days have been the same since! It's amazing what a variety of tasks can be fitted into 19 hours each week. It's a very busy office to work in and there is no telling what you might be asked to do. It's a great atmosphere to work in with lots of visitors through the door & people ringing. From preparing the weekly notice sheet; counting crockery being lent out for various events & listing every song that has been sung, printed or displayed in church for copyright purposes, to all manner of other things which need doing, the day is never dull. |
